Client Background

The cooperating client is a domestic local sports equipment brand with 10 years of experience in the fitness gear sector, boasting a stable customer base from offline stores and online followers. To expand its product portfolio, it planned to enter the yoga wear track and launch its own branded yoga wear but lacked expertise in yoga apparel production and access to functional fabric resources, thus requiring an OEM model to accelerate product time-to-market.

 

Pain Points & Demands

The core demand was private-label OEM customization of functional yoga wear, requiring products to deliver professional performance, including high elasticity, moisture wicking, and skin-like comfort, suitable for low-intensity workout scenarios such as yoga and Pilates.

Patterns needed to be engineered for the body contours of Asian women, eliminating the "baggy" or "constricting" flaws of traditional yoga wear, while supporting personalized logo embroidery and colorway customization.

The client planned to launch the products across both online and offline channels simultaneously, requiring guaranteed delivery timeliness for the initial 10,000-piece order, along with cost control to ensure product cost-effectiveness.

 

OEM Customization Solutions

Custom Functional Fabric Sourcing: Targeting yoga-specific movement needs, two core materials were curated: high-stretch Lycra®-blended fabric and moisture-wicking quick-drying fabric. The Lycra®-blended fabric offers 300% stretch recovery and over 95% rebound rate, ensuring unrestricted mobility during exercise; the quick-drying fabric features a honeycomb weave structure, which absorbs moisture twice as fast as conventional fabrics and prevents skin adhesion when sweating. All fabrics passed SGS safety testing and comply with national sportswear standards.

Pattern Optimization & Personalization Services: Based on Asian female body measurement data, the yoga wear patterns were redesigned with a high-waisted tummy-smoothing construction to contour the waist and abdomen; leg openings adopted seamless binding technology to prevent rolling during movement. Personalization options were provided: brand logo embroidery on the chest of yoga tops, plus 8 Morandi color palettes to cater to diverse consumer preferences.

Large-scale Production & QC Protocol Implementation: Standardized production lines were activated, adopting a streamlined assembly line process to ensure seamless integration of cutting, sewing, overlocking, and pressing. A three-tier quality inspection protocol was enforced: incoming fabric inspection, in-process semi-finished product inspection, and finished product random sampling inspection, ensuring size deviation of each yoga wear piece is within 0.5 cm and stitches are uniform and secure.

Supply Chain Integration for Accelerated Delivery: Upstream and downstream resources were consolidated, and fabric supplier inventory was pre-locked to shorten raw material procurement cycles; a batch-by-batch production and delivery model was adopted, with the first 5,000 pieces delivered within 25 days and the remaining 5,000 pieces completed within 35 days, meeting the client’s demand for synchronized online-offline stocking.

 

Cooperation Outcomes

After launch, the yoga wear series achieved monthly sales of over 2,000 pieces in offline stores, driven by its "skin-like comfort + high cost-performance ratio" advantages, with a positive review rate of 98% on the online flagship store, becoming a new profit growth engine for the brand.

Leveraging this yoga wear line, the client successfully entered the sportswear market, placed a follow-up order of 20,000 pieces, and commissioned the development of derivative products, including yoga jackets and coordinated yoga pants sets.

The product’s functional performance was highly recognized by consumers, triggering organic user-generated content on platforms like Xiaohongshu and Douyin, helping the client’s brand transform from an "equipment-centric brand" to a "sports lifestyle solution provider."
